Tips for Stress ManagementStress is something that is a part of our everyday lives. It can take a toll on your mental and physical health, making you more susceptible to getting sick. Here are some easy ways that you can start managing your stress and improve your overall wellbeing.

TAKE A BREATH

Take a moment when you’re feeling stressed or overwhelmed and just focus on your breathing. Note areas where tension is being held in your body (ex. shoulders, jaw, hands) and release it.

GO ON A WALK

A quick, 15-minute walk is a great way to relieve stress. Not only does the exercise help release endorphins into your body, but some fresh air & sunshine can also help reduce the amount of anxiety you are feeling.

SAY NO

Often times, feelings of stress can come from simply having too much on our plates at any given time. Learning to say ‘no’ every once in awhile will allow you to devote more time towards what is most important to you.

CONTROL WHAT YOU CAN

Stress comes from a variety of sources. Some of which we can control (ex. finishing a project by a deadline) and some of which we can’t. By controlling what we can (ex. personal choices, attitude, thoughts) we can change our outlook on the situation happening around us. There’s no sense in spending your time and energy worrying over something that you can’t change.
