HOLIDAY BUDGET
If you haven’t already, now is the time to start coming up with a budget for the holiday season. Think about what you will be able to realistically spend and where that money will come from. Start making lists and keep your eyes out for sales and coupons that will help you save money along the way. Don’t forget to include items such as food, decorations, charitable giving, etc. into your budget planning.
Check out much you contributed to your retirement throughout the year. If you are on track to max out before the end of the year, keep going. If you won’t quite hit that max but are able to donate more, try and make it priority. If you have specific questions regarding your retirement planning, reach out to a professional financial planner.
Once the New Year hits, tax season is right around the corner. To help save yourself some stress, start collecting any information that you may need. You may also want to think about adjusting your tax withholding, especially if you had a major even during the year, such as a divorce or the birth of a child. If you have specific questions regarding your taxes, reach out to a professional financial planner.
Take a look on how you did with your finances this past year. Are there places where you could improve? Could you save a little more? Are there places you could make cuts in your budget? Start coming up with financial goals for the New Year now. Then, when resolution time rolls around, you’ll be ready to go.
